1. Introduction and scope
AdEveryWhere (Pty) Ltd ("AdEveryWhere", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This policy applies to all personal information collected through our advertising network, website, and communication channels in South Africa.
2. Personal information we may collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, such as when you contact us via email, submit an inquiry, or apply to be a partner. We also collect technical information through automated means when you interact with our digital properties. AdEveryWhere explicitly states that we do not use facial recognition technology and do not personally identify individuals viewing our advertising screens in public spaces.
3. Information submitted through advertiser enquiries
When advertisers inquire about our services, we collect business-related contact information, including names, company details, email addresses, and phone numbers, solely for the purpose of responding to the enquiry and managing the potential business relationship.
4. Information submitted through Screen Partner applications
For potential Screen Partners, we collect detailed location information, business ownership proof, and contact data to assess the suitability of the proposed site for our network and to perform necessary due diligence.
5. Website usage, analytics and cookies
We use standard analytics tools to understand how visitors use our website. This includes the use of cookies to enhance user experience. Audience and campaign reporting for our advertising network may use aggregated or anonymous estimates to provide performance data to advertisers without identifying individuals.
6. Why we process personal information
We process information to provide advertising services, manage partner relationships, improve our technology, and comply with legal obligations in South Africa. Processing is always limited to what is necessary for the intended purpose.
7. How information may be shared with service providers
We may share information with third-party service providers who help us operate our business, such as cloud hosting or IT support providers. All such providers are bound by strict confidentiality and data protection agreements.
8. Cross-border processing, where applicable
In cases where data is transferred outside of South Africa (e.g., to cloud servers located abroad), we ensure that the recipient is subject to laws or agreements that provide an adequate level of protection similar to POPIA.
9. Information security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or destruction. We maintain industry-standard security protocols across our network and systems.
10. Information retention
We retain personal information only for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by South African law. Once no longer required, information is securely destroyed or de-identified.
11. Direct marketing preferences and opt-out rights
You have the right to opt-out of direct marketing at any time. We will provide a clear method for unsubscribing in any marketing communications we send.
12. Access, correction, objection and deletion requests
Under POPIA, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request its correction, or to object to its processing. You may also request the deletion of your information where applicable.
13. Children’s personal information
Our services are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental or guardian consent where required by law.
14. Security compromises
In the event of a suspected data breach or security compromise, we will notify the Information Regulator and affected data subjects as required by Section 22 of POPIA.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. The 'Last Updated' date at the top of the policy will reflect the most recent version.
16. Contacting AdEveryWhere
For any queries regarding this policy or your personal information, please contact our Information Officer via email at advertise@adeverywhere.co.za.
17. Complaints to the Information Regulator
If you are not satisfied with our response to a request or believe our processing does not comply with POPIA, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator.
